29 Tamworth Farm Rd. (during new the roof install, but you get the idea...)

Blue Hill area amenities:
For groceries or other needs, there is a grocery store, Tradewinds, and a RiteAid on South Street in Blue Hill.  From the Inn parking lot, turn right.  Go to the end of the road and at the "T" intersection, turn right on to Main Street.  Continue through town, up the hill and at the blinking light, turn left onto South Street.  Tradewinds and the RiteAid will be to your right, next to one another.

Post Office- the post office is on Main Street in Blue Hill.  Follow the directions above, but at the "T" intersection, take a left.  The Post office will be on your left.

Wine/Beer, etc...:  Wine, Beer and liquor are sold at Tradewinds, but there is also a wonderful wine shop in town.  Follow the directions to the post office, but keep going just a bit.  The Wine Shop will be on your left.  If you like wine, this place is a must.  Trust me.  :)

Things to do on Saturday

The tentative schedule of events is as followed:

Friday afternoon/evening: Arrive in Blue Hill, BBQ at Peter and Ann Louise's house

Saturday: Activities on your own (or a planned activity, see below) during the day.  Saturday evening: Reunion dinner

Sunday: Departure, onward to Pubnico or other plans

There are plenty of things to do in the area, and everyone is welcome to do their own thing on Saturday, but I thought perhaps some people might want an organized outing.  I had a few ideas:
Boat cruise of Frenchman Bay http://www.barharborcruises.com/tripinfo.html
Trolley tour of Bar Harbor/Acadia http://www.acadiaislandtours.com/
Boat Cruise around Isle au Haut: http://oldquarry.com/shop/charterboat.php#amcruise

Hotel Info

Mom sent this in an e-mail, but here it is:

Hi all. We have spoken with the folks at the Blue Hill Farm Country Inn, which is about a mile from our house. They have reserved 8 rooms at last years prices. If you are planning to stay longer just let them know. Their web site is

www.bluehillfarminn.com

They have 10 double rooms with double beds, 3 double rooms with twin beds and 1 single room with a single bed. It's a no smoking facility. The rates (not including tax) are

Private baths
$115 for double occupancy; $95 for single occupancy

Semiprivate baths
$95 for double occupancy; $85 for single.

The rates include a very nice continental breakfast with fresh fruit and home baked breads or muffins, juice and yogurt. To make a reservation  call them at 207-374-5126. Leave a message if there is no answer and specify "Berst Family Reunion" to get the correct price.

The closest airport is Bangor about 45 minutes away. We can pick you up there.  Flying into Portland is also an option and there is a bus that comes to Bangor several times a day-a 2 hour ride. The bus company is Concord Trailways. It also comes from Boston to Bangor.

We hope to see all of you!

Peter and Ann Louise
